Multifandom Horror Exchange

All outstanding nominated tags have now been approved, with the exception of some about which I have queries. The latest Nomination Queries post can be found here.

Signups are set to open according to schedule. In the meanwhile, if anybody happens to notice duplicates, wandering tags, typos, or other potential errors in the tagset, please feel free to leave a comment on this post. Thank you!

I am willing to add late nominations until tomorrow, May 18 at 12:00pm EDT. If there is anything you'd like added to the tagset, you are welcome to comment here with the fandom name and character/relationships. Please use appropriate formatting as guidelined in the Nominations Info post.

General Information

• To nominate, edit nominations, or check if your nominations have been approved, please sign into your AO3 account, go to the tagset, and click on the appropriate choice in the top right corner of the screen.
  
• You may nominate items for the tagset even if you are not completely sure whether you want to include them in your own sign-up.
  
• Any nomination queries will be posted to Dreamwidth for feedback from the community. Please check the comm.
  
• Nomination limits are 10 Fandoms and 20 Relationships (per Fandom).
  
• When nominating, lone or single characters must be nominated under “Relationships” by using the format "Solo: [Character Name]".
  
• For this challenge, "/" will indicate romantic and/or sexual relationships, while "&" will indicate platonic relationships.
  
• Please disambiguate all fandoms by using the format "Character or Ship (Fandom)". Some fandom-specific disambiguations below.
  • For example, Itachi alone can be nominated as "Solo: Uchiha Itachi (Naruto)".
    
  • Please use your best judgement with respect to piping for your fandom. If "Character Identity A | Character Identity B" is the canonical tag but identities A and B are vastly different, you may prefer to use only one name/identity when nominating that character. By default, I will accept tags with or without piping as they are nominated. If anybody has a concern or spots any potential duplicates as a result, please do let me know by commenting on this post or one of the future nomination clarification posts. Thank you!

Community Discussion

• At the moment, there are no plans on my end to change either the medium matching or the 15 horror type tags from last year's tagset. However, please still feel welcome to discuss or provide feedback about Horror Type tags here. New ideas or suggestions may be considered if there is sufficient agreement from the community.
  
• This year, I am considering letting participants request "Opt-In" Horror Types in addition to the Horror Type tags that are in the tagset. These Opt-Ins could not be matched on. However, if named and described in optional details, a creator could choose to create based on the Opt-In instead of the tagset Horror Type. For example, if somebody opted-in to XYZ Horror by saying so and briefly describing their interpretation of XYZ Horror, then their assigned creator could create for XYZ Horror instead of the tagset Horror Type they matched on. My hope is that this would allow flexibility to accommodate niches that may not be adequately represented by the more general Horror Types in the tagset. Any thoughts on this, please feel welcome to share by commenting at the Community Discussion post. Thank you!

A quick clarification regarding nominations, especially under "Original Work: Solo Nonhuman Character | 1+ Nonhuman Characters in Ships".

Originally, I had imagined that the category X would probably be used for characters or creatures that the nominator headcanons as something along the lines of objects, things, or "it" rather than "he"/"she"/"them", etc.

If there is a monster, creature, non-human entity, or animated object that you have a gender and/or sex headcanon about when nominating, please try to use that in place of X.

For example, if you headcanon a particular djinn as female, you may use F to indicate that instead of X. Similarly, if you have a headcanon that djinns, as a "species", have gender and/or sex but you do not care what it is for your ship, you may use A to indicate that.

I bring this up because I came across several nominations that had a category built into them but used X. I accepted a few before noticing, and then changed the X to the category indicated in the nomination.

For example, I've changed "(X & X) Ghost Girl & Ghost Kitten (OWNH)" to "(F & A) Ghost Girl & Ghost Kitten (OWNH)".
For example, I've changed "(X) Solo: Female Virtual Assistant (OWNH)" to "(F) Solo: Female Virtual Assistant (OWNH)".

Below are some ships that confused me because there seems to be a category built into the nomination. There are also other nominations which contain non-human creatures that are often associated with some sort of gender and/or sex but were categorized as X. But I do not want to change any these myself because that wouldn't feel right.

• (X/M) Selkie/Man Who Steals Her Sealskin (OWNH)
  
• (X/M) Reverse Anglerfish Mermaid/Man Who Was Hoping For the Other Kind of Mermaid (OWNH)

If you've nominated these (or something similar that hasn't been approved yet), please either change the X to indicate the category you headcanoned, or let me know that you'd prefer to keep X either by commenting (Anonymous is fine!) or sending an email to implodinglittlehearts@gmail.com. Until these are changed or the nominator confirms that they'd prefer to use X, I won't accept them.

• At the moment, the following 4 mediums are proposed to be used for matching. However, if the community would prefer to use only Art (Medium) and Fic (Medium) with no consideration for sexual content, then that can be changed based on feedback.
