Hands down my favorite movie of 2019, and given the company it keeps (Knives Out, Midsommar, SO MANY other incredible flicks) I feel like that speaks volumes. I love everything about Grace, from the fact that she snorts when she laughs all the way to how absolutely feral she became my the end of the movie. (That screech when she was fighting the family butler - major heart eyes.) And Daniel is so beautifully broken. They did a great job showing how incredibly messed up he was. I would have loved to see what would have happened if they'd gotten away and Daniel somehow escaped Le Bail's deal (what kind of conditions might the devil place on his survival?) or even a different approach to how things went down on Grace's wedding night.

I'm here for the smut/kink and/or the horror/creep, lol. Even when sex isn't the major theme of what's going on the entire show is pulsing with that kind of energy, so smut of any variety just feels especially fitting. I typically like fluff and happy endings, but with American Gods every last bit of that goes out the window. I'm a fan of porn and horror, and this fandom slides right into that mentality in ways that many others don't. I am not the least bit twitchy about dub-con or non-con here either. So long as everyone's a legal adult and it isn't A/B/O I'm pretty much golden.
I love Sweeney and Laura's energy, their reluctance to admit how they feel about one another, and the potential for just super dirty sexings. I'm not squicky about violence or this particular version of necrophilia (does it count since she's the undead and not a prone corpse?) if you're working with a still decaying Laura. So long as we don't have my DNWs, get graphic. I'll probably love it. I don't hate the Laura is Essie trope, but I like seeing things that don't take that route any farther than the physical resemblance. The only thing I really don't want with these two is flat out "woe is me", self-pitying angst. They're both usually in shitty moods, but the thing they're not usually up to is crying about it. Whinging, sure, and bitching aplenty, but sobbing in a corner ain't either of their styles.
As an additional note, I do love worldbuilding in this universe and explanations of how each god and/or mystical figure is affected by belief and worship.

I find Frollo to be the most compelling Disney villain. In HOND, he dominates the world that all the characters inhabit and embodies monstrous cruelty and bigotry. He's elegant and forbidding, and yet all too human in his desires, sanctimony, and self-deceptions. Esmeralda, meanwhile, is my favorite heroine: streetwise but not jaded, kind and brave, warm and still capable of humor despite everything she's experienced. These characters are each powerful in their own way, and I find the tension between them very sexy. Feel free to play up the menace Frollo poses (while minding my DNWs) and did deep into their respective psyches. Is Esmeralda at all compelled by Frollo, even though he is repulsive in so many ways? What sorts of traps does he set for her, or she him? My one fandom-specific request: do not redeem Frollo or portray him experiencing a change of heart. Have him prevail in his wickedness or be undone by it.

Horror of Dracula (1958): This is my favorite cinematic version of Dracula. Christopher Lee's portrayal of the Count is at once terrifying and sensual, grand and feral. Peter Cushing is his match as the clever, noble, indefatigable Van Helsing. Both characters are powerful, albeit in different ways, which makes their clash so compelling. Also, the screenplay puts some interesting twists on the classic Dracula story, such as Harker going on a stealth mission to infiltrate Dracula's lair instead of just selling him real estate.
I'm sure I'll love anything you'd write for this fandom, but here are some suggestions anyhow:
- Van Helsing learning to fight vampires or discovering that Dracula exists
- Van Helsing hunting Dracula once before and failing, almost meeting his doom
- Van Helsing bringing Harker into a cabal of vampire hunters
Also, for what it's worth, I love a politically-minded Dracula, one who thinks beyond killing individual humans for food and to reconquering nations as he had in life. If anyone would embody this portrayal of Dracula, it would be Christopher Lee.
Brides of Dracula (1960): Help me build up this fandom! This sumptuous gothic film gives Peter Cushing’s Van Helsing more of a center stage than he had in Dracula is populated with a host of fascinating characters. (While only Van Helsing and Marianne are nominated, I would welcome appearances by the Baroness, the Baron, or Greta). Van Helsing gets tantalizingly close to romance, although the movie does pull that punch at the end. Feel free to stick to straight horror or play up the romantic aspects of the story: I'll enjoy it either way.

While I know that's not really Sir Malcolm reciting Keats to Vanessa in Season 1, Episode 5 (see https://www.sho.com/video/34404/autopsy-of-a-scene-ep-105---vanessas-demons), I love that scene. These two characters have myriad reasons to admire and also to despise one another, which makes for wonderful sexual tension. I'd enjoy them in action against monsters, or struggling (or giving into) an undeniable attraction.
